Hitt Family History
The Blue Dragon herb label is based on a 1935 Hitt’s Fireworks label designed by Rebecca’s great-grandfather Thomas Gabriel Hitt. Hitt’s Fireworks was based in Columbia City, Washington, just south of Seattle, for over 50 years. They were responsible for the City of Seattle annual fireworks celebration for 40 consecutive years. They also produced military shows with dancers and explosives. Most famously, Hitt Fireworks made explosive scenes for Gone with the Wind and No Price Glory.
TG Hitt graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Chemistry. Besides inventing fireworks combinations, he also spent time making perfumes out of the flowers that grew on the 5 acre property that housed the family and the fireworks company and several buildings. Although Rebecca never met her great-grandfather, as she dug into her family history she felt a kindred spirit with him and his potion making creative side. When she found the Hitt’s Blue Dragon fireworks label it pulled together family history and chinese medicine and dragons and so Rebecca had the old label re-designed for her tincture label so she continue the creative spirit of her great-grandfather.
